This page explains what data we collect on www.zoelia.it, why, how long we keep it and who we share it with. It is written to be read: if anything is unclear, write to us and we will put it better.

Who processes your data
The homes on this site belong to different people, each owning their own: there is no company behind them. Whoever books enters into the accommodation contract with the owner of that home, and it is that owner who is the data controller for that stay.

The site — these pages, the visit statistics, the enquiries that arrive from here — is run by Giorgio Segatori, who for these purposes is the data controller and can be reached at the address below.
For anything concerning your data, wherever it comes from: info@zoelia.it. If the request concerns a stay, we pass it on to the owner of the home.
When you visit the site
The server records, as any web server does, the IP address, the date and the page requested. These are needed to keep the site running and to spot attacks; they delete themselves after a few weeks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site up and secure.
The visit statistics (Google Analytics 4) start only if you accept them from the banner. Until you accept, no statistics cookie is written and Google receives no data about you. If you accept, we measure how many people visit the site and which pages they look at, with the IP address anonymised. We do not advertise and we do not profile anyone.
When you book
To hold the dates and prepare the stay we need your name, email, telephone, dates and number of guests. We process them to follow up your request and then to perform the accommodation contract: without them, a booking cannot be made.
The payment takes place on a Zoelia page with the card handled by Stripe: the card details travel to Stripe and do not pass through us. Of that payment we keep the amount, the date and the outcome.
Before your arrival we will ask you for the guests’ identity documents: this is not our curiosity, it is a legal obligation. Personal details must be reported to the Questura through the Alloggiati Web portal, and statistical data to the Region; we keep the documents only for as long as the law requires.
Who we share the data with
- Zoelia — the management system where we keep the calendar, the bookings and the check-ins.
- Stripe — to collect the payment.
- Google — statistics only, and only if you have accepted.
- OpenStreetMap — the maps on this site. The map images come from their servers, and in requesting them your IP address reaches them. This happens only when a map actually appears on screen: if you do not scroll that far, nothing is sent.
- The provider hosting the site, on servers within the European Union.
- The authorities, where the law requires it: the Questura for guests’ personal details, statistical bodies, the tax administration.
We do not sell data to anyone and we do not pass it on for advertising purposes.
Each owner sees only the bookings for their own home: whoever lets Ottaviano does not see who sleeps at Cipro.
How long we keep it
- Bookings and receipts: ten years, because tax rules require it.
- Guests’ documents: the period laid down by accommodation legislation, then they are deleted.
- Enquiries without a booking: twelve months.
- Statistics: fourteen months, and the data is aggregated.

Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted when we are not obliged to keep it, restrict its use, receive it in a readable file or object to a processing operation. Write to info@zoelia.it: we reply within a month. If you think we are getting it wrong you can turn to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
